From a young age, Yilian displayed an insatiable curiosity. When the school bell rang, she was the first to rush into the classroom, eager for new wisdom. Her questions in class were so thoughtful and unique that they often prompted deeper discussions, earning her the admiration of her teachers.

Tim’s Childhood
A Childhood of Endless Questions
As a child, Tim was an endless fount of questions, always brimming with whimsical imaginings about the future. Whether he envisioned himself as an expressive painter or a scientist inventing a time machine, Tim was unceasingly enthusiastic. His energy knew no bounds as he and his friends ceaselessly explored every corner of their surroundings, capturing the last rays of the sunset or the elongated shadows of winter. Each moment was a new query, each answer a new revelation about the world.
The Artist Within
Throughout his life, Tim never put down his paintbrush. Whether capturing the changing seasons or sketching scenes from his imagination of outer space, his art was a journal of his fantasies and growth. Sometimes, he would even craft characters from milk cartons he found at home, companions in his sun-filled childhood adventures.
Rock and Roll Heart
As Tim entered his teenage years, rock music became the rhythm of his life. His guitar was not just an instrument but a faithful companion through those teenage years. Standing on stage, every vibration of the strings seemed to resonate with his inner emotions, filling every corner of the room as if the whole world could hear his passion and commitment.
The Journey of Youth
When the school bell rang, Tim would sling his guitar over his back and ride his slightly worn-out bicycle through every street corner of the city. Navigating through bustling streets, against the flow of people, through dark tunnels, and up winding mountain roads, he was on a ceaseless quest to practice and perform with his band. He even took his music to the busy streets at night, performing raw songs he wrote himself.
“Music is my voice, and I want the world to hear it,” he said.

The campus, steeped in a vibrant atmosphere of art, became the stage for their budding romance. They often found themselves studying together in the library, where the vast ocean of books opened up different worlds for them to explore and savor. Their connection deepened with each rhythmic keystroke and strum, as they practiced music together in the piano room. Each song they played seemed to narrate their unfolding love story, becoming cherished memories of their time together. Similarly, the art studio became another sanctuary for their love. Here, every hue and stroke of their paintbrushes carried not just their passion for art but also their deepening affection for each other.

In such an enriching environment, every day seemed to be filled with boundless exploration and fresh experiences. As they walked through the quiet campus, the ancient buildings and sculptures whispered mysterious tales, inspiring them to continue their pursuit of art and knowledge. And when the curtain of night fell, they spent time under the starry sky, sharing their dreams and hopes. Both believed that their future would be as expansive and limitless as the art they so fervently pursued.

A Proposal in Hawaii
After graduation, our shared journey led us to explore the world and its myriad opportunities. It was in the eternal landscapes of Hawaii where our youthful love was transformed into a lifelong commitment. As the waves danced around us on a beach in Hawaii in the autumn of 2018, we pledged to spend the rest of our lives together.
Journeys in Profession
Yilian became a tax expert, her mastery over each regulation and provision as precise as an experienced cartographer’s knowledge of an ancient map. She could guide anyone safely through the complicated maze of taxation.
Tim delved into the world of art history. Immersed daily in books and old paintings, he conversed with artists across the centuries, attempting to articulate the messages that transcended time and space beyond the ink and paper.
Music as a Lifelong Companion
Even amidst the hustle and bustle of our careers, music remained a constant in our lives. As the day turned to night, we would set aside our work, move to the piano, and explore new dimensions in music, turning keys and chords into emotional dialogue.
A Promise by the Eternal Mountains and Seas
We chose the enduring landscapes of Hawaii to bear witness to our transformation—from a youthful love to a future bound by vows. With the ocean’s waves as our backdrop, we promised to harmonize our lives in the same way we’ve harmonized our melodies.

Our Beloved Cat
Hoax
Hoax is a tabby American Shorthair, born in 2015 in Minnesota. Time has flown, and he is now 8 years old, having been a part of our lives for just as long.
He’s a lively, healthy, and incredibly intelligent boy who seems to solve any puzzle thrown his way. His favorite treat, reserved for special occasions like his birthday, is boiled shrimp.
His unique skill? Opening all doors and cabinets, which means we have to be vigilant about keeping the pantry and the front door secure.
Despite often sporting a rather aloof expression, he’s actually an incredibly affectionate feline. His most cherished activities include lying on Tim’s keyboard to hinder his work, and standing on Yilian’s lap for cuddles during meal times.
